To its patients, physicians, employees and neighbors, Good Samaritan Hospital offers everything you need to care for your family: state-of-the-art systems and technology combined with highly individual care. Over its 70-year history, Good Samaritan Hospital has been shaped by change. But through it all, the core values established by Good Samaritan's founders have prevailed. In 1932, the Sisters of Charity established reverence, integrity, compassion and excellence as the foundation of their mission to build a healthier community. Today, these values-as fresh and full of opportunity as ever-continue to inspire the personal interactions and scientific advances that are the spirit and substance of Good Samaritan Hospital.

People in the Pursuit of Excellence
Good Samaritan Hospital's 550 physicians represent more than 35 primary, medical and surgical specialties. In addition, the 560-bed hospital boasts an unusual number of advanced practice nurses for its size, including clinical nurse specialists, midwives, nurse anesthetists, and nurse practitioners in obstetrics and trauma. In addition, Good Samaritan pioneered open-heart surgery in Dayton, and our newly remodeled Family Birthing Center provides many options to ensure that every birthing experience is as unique as each new family we care for. As Dayton's only Level II Trauma Center, Good Samaritan is also a regional leader in the care for the critically injured. And at Samaritan North Health Center, the region's largest and most advanced outpatient facility, patient satisfaction consistently ranks in the top 1% for the entire nation. With more than 140 physicians practicing in all medical specialties, Samaritan North handles more than 250,000 patient visits annually in outpatient surgery, cancer care, rehabilitation and sports medicine, diagnostic testing, and the breast center.

Good Samaritan Hospital's selection as one of the top 100 hospitals in the region and one of the top 100 hospitals in the nation demonstrates that Good Samaritan continues to fulfill its promise of excellence.
